Happy Thanksgiving

At this time of Thanksgiving, we all should pause to count our blessings.
The freedom of this great country which we live in, provided by all those who fought their way
to come to this country and all those fighting here & abroad to keep us safe.

Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.

Next Meeting

Please join us for our next and final meeting of 2013.....

Wednesday, November 20th at 8:00 PM
Brooklyn GOP Headquarters
7620 17th Avenue

On this month's agenda, we will have an Election Day recap and discuss the future of our party. We will also be discussing our holiday social, the upcoming club elections and voting on the by-law amendments proposed at our October meeting.

In addition to regular business, we will be holding a toy and food drive for the holidays in partnership with The Brooklyn GOP....

We will be collecting unwrapped toys for children of soldiers of a local Army National Guard unit. With Veterans Day earlier this week, this is a great opportunity to say thank you to our Veterans by helping their families enjoy the holidays.

Also, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for a food drive being organized by Regina Pacis Basilica located on 65th Street. Please bring some items so we can help those families in need during the holidays.

Both collections, toys and food, can be brought to our meeting as well as any recording of the Brooklyn GOP Radio show on Wednesday evenings from 8pm-10pm at Brooklyn GOP HQ.

Remember our Veterans

Please take a moment today, and everyday, to remember and honor the true American heroes; those who have made sacrifices to protect us and those who continue to ensure that our country is safe and our freedoms are preserved.

"It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
- Charles M. Province

Election Day is almost here

We are in the campaign season crunch time. Candidates from city council up to mayor need our help in these final days leading up to Election Day. If you can donate any of your time, Brooklyn GOP Headquarters (7620 17th Avenue) is open daily from 1 pm to 9 pm for volunteers to make phone calls, drop literature off at homes, hand out flyers at train stations, and put up posters & lawn signs.

Also, District Attorney Charles "Joe" Hynes has asked our club for help handing out literature on Sunday to spectators as the NYC Marathon passes through Brooklyn. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Bay Ridge campaign office at 8319 3rd Avenue (84th Street and 3rd Avenue) to volunteer between 9 am and 1 pm.

Please contact bklynyrs@gmail.com if you want to volunteer for any our candidates.

Let's help get our Republican candidates elected!!!!
